Dear Emma
I’m so happy to be relaxing with you on the couch. You fell asleep watching your ALL time favorite movie Tangled.
You actually love this movie so much you act out bits and pieces of it and run around the house dancing. Tonight you fell asleep watching it.
Enjoyed another amazing birthday. I turned 26 yesterday.. even though I worked and it was a LONG day. Daddy bought me a gift I've wanted to awhile a new-
KINDLE FIRE HD!!
I love it, and I'll do a little product review on it soon.
I thought I would share a little end of the year “bucket” list turning 26 kinda of list. I get so many things going I lose track so I have to stop and setup a list-
Finish the Blog (Design) Love course I’m taking over at A Beautiful Mess. It is a fantastic E-Course that’s teaching me about html/java/and blog design. The new blog will reflect it… once I complete it

Finish at least ONE DIY project for the new house. I have a couple in mind… I just hope to complete at least one of them.
Keep up all of the Project Life pages and December Daily pages before the next year begins. I was caught up but fell behind again.
Well that isn’t too bad… just add that into – running a retail business through the holidays, 2 thanksgivings, 2 christmas, 1 black friday, buying our first home, working 50+ hrs a week, daddy working full time, both of us watching you full time………
yep I can make it happen!! Keeping everything simple and exciting!!
much love Mom.

Journal: Refusal to wear a diaper.
So here I'm sitting on the computer looking through all the amazing blogs, blog hops, stats, and all the logistics to make this blog keep going and continue to grow.. blah blah right?
While I do this you sit and watch your Preschool Prep company videos. Literally the best learning tool for learning Alphas, Numbers, colors, and shapes... but at the same time THE MOST ANNOYING videos for mommy.
M... M... M... M......... M........M............ M M M M
yeah that continues until it switches to
N... N.. etc you get the point.
I peek up from my laptop to look at you, like I always do, and you are just sneakily staring at me. You reach one had up and start to pull at your diaper... You KNOW what you are doing but you keep doing it. You then go after the other side.
yep no more diaper.
I really feel like you are ready to take on this potty training stuff, but at the same time I'm unsure if you are completely ready!
The only solution I've found to have you keep the diaper on so I don't get poop on the floor is to put you in overalls!! ha you haven't managed to learn how to remove those yet.
I'm just going to continue to watch for the potty training signs, keep talking about it, and continue to see if you are ready.

Photo Finds- mommy/daughter matchups
I seen this photo of you and thought hmmm I remember a photo of me as a baby making the same face.. well I went searching through old family photos and I found the one I was looking for, but OMG I never really thought of how much you and I look alike. Everyone says you look like daddy, but for sure as a baby you look like mommy!
I love awesome photo finds ;)

Everyday Stories- True love
So many times i get asked how i make it work. How have you and your husband made it 9 years?? Is it that storybook romance of true love ... in a way yes, but it never came as easy as some would think. Fairytale loves never do. Look back at everyone of those Fairytale couples, they encounter real life hardships in metaphoric ways. Belle struggles the beast as do we sometimes- that hidden resentment and anger one might feel and need to overcome. I see Ariel who would do anything to change to be with the one she loves. She evolved herself into the person she WANTED to be and found the love she was looking for with him. Like them my fairytale love didn't come without sweat and tears. They still occur even now 9 years later. You actually find yourself unable to know yourself without the other one. You no longer are one but two in one. You find that you would sacrifice everything, give your entire being to that other person.

currently: Meet the Robinson's
so a little recap on current loves, likes, life, and all around details of the Robinson's...
oh and yes I went there ;) let's Meet The Robinson's
oh wait that's not us... not terribly far off though.
So lets start off with you of course.
Emma-
loves Preschool Prep Company videos-
these videos are an amazing way to learn your shapes, numbers, colors, and letters. I would really recommend these to any parent with a toddler.

and
Mott's medley fruit snacks-
they are so delicious I even steal them ;)
Mommy-
is just loving this show- true blood is based on a favorite set of books called the Southern Vampire Diaries or Sookie Stackhouse novels. All in all just a crazy show that I've become strangely hooked on. Don't ask me why...
and i just love like always to keep up with my project life and my smash books, though it wouldn't seem like it since I'm days and oh wait weeks behind. I swear by the end of October I'll have documented your entire 2nd year pl style and have completed your entire 1st year Smash Book style. Then I'll stop and think nice and hard about how I want to document your 3rd year.
and he's always checking out reddit. Its totally the guys version of pintrest.com. They post funny articles, pictures, and all around total dude stuff.

A new outlook on life... new motivation and new love for life.
So I've spent so many days and so many nights trying to simply understand myself and my life. Yeah it sure takes a lot out of me. Its been recent that I just came to the final decision... I'm tired of coming up with excuses, I'm tired of just being tired. So I'm doing it and I'm writing it here to keep myself accountable to you. When you are old enough to remember mommy she wont be this overweight self conscious girl she'll be the strong and confident woman that I pray for you to be. I've been surrounded by family members either struggling with weight loss or doing what needs to be done to fix it. There is two who are my most inspiring people. Your Uncle Ryan and your Aunt Shannon. Let me see if I can find a before and after photo of your uncle. Well it looks like I don't have one before, but this one is during the process in 2008...
and this is after in 2011...
your uncle lost over 100 pounds, shoot I want to say 150 even. One day he decided he was going to eat better, exercise, and just loose the weight. He made the decision and followed through with it. Now sadly I'll show myself when I was young 2004 when daddy and I first met...
then in 2010 after I gave birth to you....
I put on over 100 lbs. since christmas of 2010 I've been doing better but to be honest we are coming around 2 years later and I'm maybe only back down to 170. hey 30 lbs IS A BIG DEAL! its just that I know I can do better. This is me now.
you can see a different but not as much as I would like to see. I'm getting older and the pounds wont shed off just eating slightly better or walking a little more. I need to actually step it up!!
My goal
for the first time actually check and document my weight
read blogs and motivational information
use spark people
start the couch2-5k.
I've tried the couch25k in thought only and I used sparkpeople.com for like a day.... yep thats it, but I was reading a blog by a woman who lost a ton of weight in a short time and thats exactly how she did it.
So here it goes... DAY 1 ;)
always have to start somewhere. I'm going to go buy a scale, find my weight, and do my first run couch25k style, and start my spark people profile.

Journal: omgosh its been a few months...
I believe I have some serious issues keeping up with a blog on a daily.. weekly.. shoot even monthly basis. Oh well I'll keep trying to update this ever chance I get.
I keep this going only for Emma. This is her blog, her story, bits and pieces of mom and dad, things that we love, and things that make up who we are.
I don't simple stop documenting even tho the blog itself gets neglected. I keep up through Facebook and Pintrest.
So whats going on in Emma's life??
one word.. Potty Training!
Since today you snagged of your diaper and decided to poop on the floor!!! ahhhh We figure its officially time to kick it in and get you going in the potty rather than mommy's floor ;)
I have an awesome article pinned from Pintrest that I will be using to teach you how.

another Valentine's day together.
Well we've ended the day with all of us together! Its something that makes me happy every night when I go to bed. We had a great day together, we hung out with Aunt Whitney and Uncle John, and played video games and watched movies.
This may be a traditional day for us, but like everyday we love it!
So with it being Valentines Day its traditional to buy something right?? well wondering what daddy bought mommy?
its a Gears of War 3 pink lancer and shotgun weapon skin. This paragraph may make me the biggest dork in the entire world... but I FREAKING love my gift. Your daddy is one funny creative guy

a story: (not for faint of heart)
after a late night I wrote a story to you. It could be a story that some may not want to read. As always this blog is dedicated to my daughter. I love to share my love for documenting, recording, and scrapbooking with everyone... I just always want everyone to know this is Emma's Story.
So after a couple strange nights I decided to write my story out on Evernote late one night.
A few nights ago you and I sat in your room. We were doing our usual nightly ritual. This consists of you laying on my lap as I rock you to sleep as we listen to new age alternative rock. Whether you like it or not, I actually sing to you as well. Now im not know for my vocals but you never seem to mind as you slip into serenity. This night I speak of is a strange night that has stuck with me for days. We were sitting there in the dark, methodically when suddenly you sat up and pointed to a spot in the room. This spot was too dark to see anything, but I asked anyway "what is it Emma?" You responded simply by pointing in the exact same spot again. It cause my heart to drop. I was unable to move my eyes from that spot. Unable to move, it felt to me as if you believed you were pointing to someone. I ruled out all else I believed you could be pointing at. Needless to say we did not sleep in your room that night. Since then nights have passed, jokes been made, and the majority concenses that I've aquired this true sense of horror from repeatedly watching horror movies. Now to tonight, Again we were going through our normal nightly rocking jam in session when the next thing I know you begin to laugh. Now u may say it was from my singing ill assure u it wasn't, because I wasn't. You stared off into an area right next to us and continued to laugh. This caused my heart to drop yet again. I repeatedly thought "who is here with us?" Suddenly a wave of relief washed over me. Like some thing clicked in me. You are happy. You aren't scared. That if someone was with us they are making you feel happy. Without further thought I turned to my left and rubbed you hair, and as I starred at you I spoke aloud "she's beautiful isn't she" I do not know reasons behind this beyond the fact that I felt I wanted it known. Next this wave of pure emotions flooded through me, it brought tears to my eyes. I knew who was with me, my grandmothers. They were with like they always are. Guiding your hand every dangerous leaps you make because you refuse to not climb on high surfaces, they are here guiding me through the tough troubles that come from being a first time parent. I know the question that will be asked will be do you believe in ghosts? You actually think your grandfathers are standing there?? To be honest I know they are there. They always have been. I don't believe they are what most would consider ghosts, but I do believe they are there as spirits. As pure goodness and beauty. The actions you took may be mere coincidences as you seen a toy you wanted or you thought mommy's singing from earlier was funny..... but the feeling I felt afterwards is beyond the words I could ever type. I felt pureness, love, and complete admiration towards myself. I know the bond I have with you is strong and its growing by shear strength and that the presence of them is just as powerful. I will sleep soundly know that as you rest in your bed you will always have 2 angels that keep a watchful eye when I can't.
I love you Emma grace

what's the story? 52 creative lifts week 3
this photo was taken on the way to pick up Uncle John from visiting with Uncle Ryan. I really haven't mentioned much about what's going on with your uncle, I really haven't decided how I'll approach the subject in "documenting:" for your memory keeping. I'm never one to edit out negativity, because I believe in really telling you the story of your life...I'll never edit it. It's just a long and amazingly complicated story that has consumed life around this house for a total of 12 days so far. We refuse to live on negativity, we cope and become stronger for it.
[the story of why we took the photo]
We have been stuck inside all week. Some terrible stomach bug has taken over this house. It struck mommy first.. then went to you.. and has ended with Daddy. It made for a long miserable week which has kept all of us indoors. Since I love to take photos... and I've been taking them every week to keep up with my project life album, you can understand why the first hint of sunlight we got made my camera go into overdrive!! You enjoyed it no matter how bundled up you were. As soon as those little feet hit the pavement you were gone. You were running and playing and luckily slowed down enough for me to grab this picture on your way to the car.
[the story of what you are doing in the photo]
Ever since you mastered the art of alternating feet to move, you haven't stopped.
there isn't much time unless you are sleeping that you aren't moving. You then learned how to make those feet work for you in more was than walking.... you now love to RUN!!
[the story of where you are going in the photo]
Even though we aren't feeling the best, finally we had to pull together to take Uncle John somewhere. This required us to pull ourselves together. We had to put those shoes on and get out of the house. Of course since you are such a big girl now you don't need us to carry you to the car anymore... you got this.
this list could go on, and the stories could go on. Every photo has a story or two that's hidden beneath it. I feel truly inspired by what is behind a photo. Sometimes its nice to go beyond saying what only "I" see on the surface. I would love to see what others see from you in this photo.
What this inspiration has done has finally allowed me to tell the story of what happened earlier this month with your Uncle.
52 creative lifts by Ali Edwards;
what is it?
Each week throughout 2012 you'll receive an email in your in-box with a reflection/investigation on some aspect of creativity (this will continue to be a free newsletter). I'm using the broad term "creativity" so I can leave room to share a variety of different concepts. It might be process, it might be ways of seeing, it might be motivation, it might be questions, it might be simple inspiration, it might be a list of inspiring links, it might be memory keeping or mixed media or photography or something completely different.

keeping a post up to date?
I don't know, sometimes it seems impossible for me to keep your blog up to date. I do my best but certain things just seem to go to the wayside. I'm working on that lol but thats just simply a fact of life. You never want to load yourself with too many responsibilities, sometimes it sets you up for failure. Its simply because not one person can do it all! I've learned to narrow down my activities, hobbies,

this is you deciding you would like to help me with this post, get me off topic and all. you do that quite often. I walked away long enough to find you a pacifier, which you simply need to have but they are never anywhere you seem to look, but yes I walk away for that and I come back to you SITTING on my laptop! You are so funny! you are always doing something totally random yet super hilarious, usually something that's bad.
okay okay I just finished up a whole day of thanksgiving and cooking, late night, early morning black friday, and now I've reached the end of all that and hit 12am on Saturday... I think that's a sign to sign off and get some sleep.

So many months later
I realize that I've obviously been ignoring your blog. My goal is to jump right back in. I really thought about how many memories would have been lost if I hadn't began this. I also think of what I may have forgotten over the last couple months. So as we approach our second year together I see it only fitting I try to get back into my memory keeping mission

My 3 years of Scrapbooking... scrapbooking goals
As I've passed into May I'm happy to close up my little 3 year scrap history review.. and I would like to set my goals for the next year. I honestly don't have long term goals simply because I say you never know what to expect. Did I know last February that I was going to be pregnant? NO, did I know that in October I would deliver my first baby.. NO did I know that the entire career path would change dramatically? NO and did I know sitting here today that I would be relaxing on the couch typing scrapbooking goals while daddy washes dishes, and you jump in your jumper @ 7 months old watching your favorite show?? NO NO NO!! So how could I have ever made a long term goal and expect to keep it... My goals would have not mattered anyway because there is no where else I would rather be or I would rather be doing. So life goals... ahh not so much. I do make other small lists of things I would like to do ex: Bucket Lists.... Like this one I made for you:
or a goal for your first birthday... tho who knows in 5 months what I'll really do
Despicable Me 1st Birthday Party
**to be continued ;)**
haha I know I tease but you'll have to wait till your first birthday to see the rest of my plans!! its going to be huge!!
ok ok to my scrapbooking goals since thats what I'm suppose to be talking about,
<Focus on my Journaling>
I always love my pages with fantastic journaling and so my focus is to capture and write more on my layouts. I can do this.... I can. I atleast need to make sure I'm titling, dating, and explaining lol ;)
<Pick my 1st year baby book kit>
I attempted one already and wasn't happy. I went for a large one rather than one I liked everything in it. I think i'm going with Paislee Press or One little Bird designs. OHH maybe a collab between them will work.
<Scrap atleast 50 more pages>
I think I can manage that... maybe. Well I've done 20 already so I guess I'll mark through that number and just say scrap more great pages that I can include in your 1 year album and journal book that I'm working on lol.
<create your blurb book>
*photo from Megan's blog*
Im going to take this blog and all the great relevant layout pages and photos and compile a blurb book. I can't wait for October so I can put it all together... ohh October will be an exciting month.

My Simple Loves
I'm always a lover of many things. and right now... I'm keeping this so simple that it makes me super happy when I think about it.
.::NEW LOVES::.
PINterest:
It keeps track of my "boards" and all the different projects/recipes/tutorials that I find online, then I "pin" them and I can keep track of them. I also can keep track of other people who post stuff I think I'll like. I find so many great things.

Miche Bags:

its the best thing since sliced pie.
Blurb:
A friend of mine made one of her blog and she showed it around... now I want one. Thanks Megan ;)
\
I know I neglect this blog so often, but I still have my ways of documenting all the milestones even when I forget.
